Gloria Borger may just be the most underused but most talented of the CNN’s analysts. As I watch the Potomac primary results come in tonight, she clearly stands out on the stage. This is nothing new of course. Borger has been on the mark and right on point each election night for CNN.
CNN obviously has tried to use her heavily on the “front row” of analysts on their set. But, I would love to see Borger anchor her own Ballot Bowl ’08 specials on CNN. (Disclosure here: I have missed some CNN Ballot Bowl shows because I have a real day job.) Of those specials that I have watched, CNN has rotated a solid team of field reporters as anchors of these shows. But I can really see Borger taking control. It could be a great success if Borger were given a blank slate with a host of reporters and analysts surrounding her. She’s really strong at adlibbing… and staying focused on clear, specific points. It’s a tough task for anyone in front of the camera who’s forced to adlib for extended periods of time. It’s tough to stay focused. She appears to do it with great ease.
Here’s a part of her CNN bio. “Borger was formerly CBS News' national political correspondent and a contributor to CBS's Face the Nation, 60 Minutes II and the network's special events coverage. From 2002-2004, she was the co-anchor of CNBC's Capital Report.”
More power to Borger and what I hope is an increased role on CNN this political season.

I want Glora Bolger to show some of Mechelle Obama speeches if she is going to show Bill Clenton's. That is the democratic way!
THANKS!

I hate Gloria Borger. She is a liberal bitch. I'm going to start a Web site...Ihategloriaborger.com. Get her off the air.
Throughout the 2008 primaries, the party conventions, and the general election campaign, Gloria Borger was second only to David Gergen in giving balanced, calm, level-headed analysis of all the action. I looked forward to her insights and commentary.
Send her back to CBS. She is so into herself, she fails to listen to other comments, and just speaks off the wall comments that she prepared prior to coming on as a so-called analyst.
Get her off CNN, or MSNBC is going to get my air time when she's on.
