Enough already with the attempts to create a new phrase for the February 5th elections. Many media outlets are calling the 25 state primaries ‘Super-Duper Tuesday.” That’s bad enough. But now as I scan the Washington Post I have to shake my head in disgust as I read: “Feb. 5: Tsunami Tuesday. (more than 20 states)”
How horrible and what a careless choice of words to call the election day ‘Tsunami Tuesday.” If a tsunami had not hit the Asian coast in 2004 killing more than 200,000, we may not be so sensitive to this phrase. But it did… and now the world is cautious if ever a tsunami warning is issued. Message to the Washington Post: please take the high road. Don’t be so careless.
This comes on the same day that New Hampshire sets its primary for January 8th, the first in the country. (Iowa caucus is January 3)
